Lill Tschudi

I love this lino print produced in 1932 titled 'Fixing the wires'
Tschudi, who along with Claude Flight, Cyril Power, and Sybil Andrews
formed a group known as the Grosvenor School produced many memorable images.

Moquette entry

Esculate

Design produced for the anual Transport for London competition
to design a new moquette fabric for seating on the new tube line extention.

Mighty Maija

Maija Isola

The Doyen of Marimeko,
and a not very typical design which like all her work
is deceptievley simple.

Alongside I've added a recent entry for London Underground's Moquette competition.
Needless to say it didn't win !

Enid Marx ( wonderful owl image )

Sadly not one of mine !

Enid Marx,

painter and designer: born London 20 October 1902; RDI 1944; died London 18 May 1998.

Perhaps best known for her rather wonderful designs for textiles, which included a stunning moquette fabric for London Underground, has always been an inspiration for some of the pattern ideas I've worked on.

I thought it would be of interest from time to time to pepper this blog with a selection of work by those designers and artist's who have inspired me.
